SPAMAST AB Engineering Department Holds Pinning and Hard Hatting Ceremony for Future Professionals

The AB Engineering Department of the Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology formally honored its student interns through the Pinning and Hard Hatting Ceremony held on May 26, 2026, at the SPAMAST Auditorium. Anchored on the theme, “Pinned with Honor: Hard Hats On Toward Professional Excellence,” the ceremony marked a significant academic milestone for aspiring engineering students as they prepared to begin their internship journey. Faculty members, parents, and institutional leaders gathered to witness the occasion, which symbolized the students’ readiness to step beyond the classroom and embrace hands-on industry experience with discipline, competence, and integrity.

The program opened with a solemn spiritual preparation and blessing of the students’ insignias, followed by the formal ceremony led by the SIPP Focal Person, Ms. Jennellie G. Gatmaitan, members of the faculty and administration. In his opening remarks, ICET Dean Engr. Leo C. Radores, highlighted the importance of internship and field exposure in strengthening technical knowledge and preparing students for the demands of the profession. Messages of encouragement were also shared by guest speaker Engr. Jowin Jeeh S. Coscos, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Marlyn B. Llameg who collectively emphasized the value of perseverance, responsibility, and professional excellence as students take their next academic and career-defining step. The ceremonial endorsement of internship candidates and the pinning and hard hatting rites stood as meaningful symbols of achievement and readiness, made even more significant through the support of families and mentors present during the event.

The ceremony concluded with expressions of gratitude, a student unity song, and an orientation designed to guide interns in the responsibilities ahead. More than a celebration of accomplishment, the event reaffirmed SPAMAST’s commitment to developing competent and service-oriented future engineers equipped to contribute to nation-building and sustainable development.
