When I assumed office as the sixth President of SPAMAST in September 2023, I carried with me both the weight of responsibility and the boundless hope that our college could become a true catalyst for transformation in Davao Occidental. In the years since, we have taken bold steps to strengthen our foundations in Academics, Research and Innovation, Extension, and Production, weaving them together into a unified vision of service and excellence.

Under my leadership, SPAMAST has expanded its academic programs to be more innovative and culture-sensitive, ensuring that our students are not only prepared for the demands of the global workforce but also deeply rooted in the values of community and sustainability. Our research initiatives have grown in relevance, addressing pressing challenges in agriculture, fisheries, and environmental protection—always with the goal of contributing to national prosperity.

Through extension programs, we have reached out to communities across Davao Occidental, empowering farmers, fisherfolk, and local leaders with knowledge and skills that open doors to endless possibilities. In production, we have modeled sustainable practices that integrate modern technologies with traditional wisdom, proving that responsible stewardship of resources can secure both livelihoods and the environment.

All these efforts are guided by our RISE Principles—Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence. They remind us that education must promote equality and unity, that our actions must be honest and accountable, that our service must be unwavering, and that our pursuit of excellence must never falter.

As we look ahead, we remain steadfast in our Vision: “By 2028, SPAMAST envisions itself as a premier Higher Education Institution transforming communities toward the attainment of Sustainable Development”. Our Mission commits us to provide transformative education, protect the environment, and contribute to national economic prosperity.
