SPAMAST JAS Extension Shines at 16th Kepiyaan Festival 2026

The Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) – Jose Abad Santos (JAS) Extension Class proudly showcased its cultural excellence and student talent during the 16th Kepiyaan Festival held at the Municipality of Jose Abad Santos from April 18 to 20, 2026.

With this year’s theme, “Kepiyaan: Pag-amuma sa Tradisyon, Paglambo sa Kaugmaon,” the festival celebrated the rich cultural heritage and forward-looking aspirations of the community. SPAMAST JAS Extension Class actively participated in the various competitions and festivities, demonstrating both artistic creativity and community pride.

Highlighting their remarkable performance, the SPAMAST contingent secured 1st Runner-Up in the Cultural Dance Competition, captivating audiences with a vibrant and meaningful portrayal of local traditions through movement and music. The group also garnered 3rd Runner-Up in the Float Parade, presenting a visually striking entry that reflected the spirit of the festival.

Adding to the institution’s pride, Ms. Jean Odao Ganton, a first-year Bachelor of Science in Agri-Business (BSAB) student, brought home the crown as B’ya te Jose Abad Santos 2026, exemplifying grace, intelligence, and cultural pride throughout the pageant.

The participation and achievements of SPAMAST JAS Extension Class underscore the institution’s commitment to promoting cultural awareness, student development, and community engagement. Through such platforms, students are empowered to celebrate their identity while contributing to the preservation of local traditions.

The institution’s participation in the festival aligns with key Sustainable Development Goals, including SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
