Strengthening digital competencies and advancing educational innovation in the ASEAN landscape, the Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology, in collaboration with Davao de Oro State College and Davao del Sur State College, successfully hosted a virtual learning session titled “Prompt Engineering for Educators” on April 15, 2026, via Zoom.
Spearheaded by the respective offices of Internationalization and External Linkages of the partner institutions, the activity gathered instructors and professors from various state universities and colleges across Mindanao. The initiative aimed to equip educators with practical knowledge and skills in utilizing artificial intelligence tools to enhance teaching, research, and academic productivity.
Serving as the resource speaker, Dr. Rizza Ramos Consad of Bukidnon State University shared expert insights on prompt engineering—an emerging skill in effectively communicating with AI systems to generate accurate, relevant, and context-driven outputs. Her discussion highlighted strategies for designing prompts that support curriculum development, assessment creation, and scholarly writing.
Participants actively engaged in the session, recognizing the relevance of prompt engineering in modern education. The webinar also provided a platform for knowledge exchange among SUCs, reinforcing the importance of collaboration in addressing the evolving demands of digital and global learning environments.
This initiative underscores the commitment of SPAMAST and its partner institutions to internationalization, innovation, and capacity-building among educators. By embracing emerging technologies, the consortium continues to empower academic communities in Mindanao to remain adaptive and globally competitive.
