Malita, Davao Occidental – Demonstrating its continued commitment to environmental stewardship and community engagement, the Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) participated in the Coastal Clean-Up Drive in celebration of the 41st Anniversary of the Philippine Coast Guard District Southern Mindanao on August 1, 2026.
Held at 6:30 a.m. along the public beach fronting SPAMAST in Barangay Poblacion, Malita, Davao Occidental, the activity gathered personnel from various government agencies, local stakeholders, and volunteers under the theme, “41 Years of Service and Resilience in Davao.”
The clean-up initiative highlighted the shared responsibility of protecting coastal and marine ecosystems while strengthening partnerships among institutions in promoting environmental conservation. Through its participation, SPAMAST reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable development and active community involvement in preserving the province’s coastal resources.
This activity supports the attainment of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 14: Life Below Water, by promoting the protection and conservation of marine ecosystems, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through collaborative action among government agencies, educational institutions, and the community in advancing environmental sustainability.
