The Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) actively participated in the 2026 Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) Midterm Convention held on July 13–15, 2026 at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City.
Representing the College were Dr. Lynette A. Bontia, College President, Dr. Janet R. Octura, and Ms. Michelle M. Elemino, who joined state university and college leaders from across the country in discussions on a
dvancing quality higher education, institutional excellence, governance, and innovation.
The convention featured insightful presentations from distinguished national leaders, including Sen. Win Gatchalian, Sen. Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara, Sen. Joel Villanueva, and commissioners from key government agencies. Their messages highlighted the importance of strengthening higher education institutions through responsive policies, academic innovation, and collaborative leadership to meet the evolving needs of the nation.
SPAMAST’s participation reaffirmed its commitment to continuous institutional development, excellence in public service, and the pursuit of transformative and globally competitive higher education.
SDG Attained: This initiative supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 – Quality Education by promoting academic excellence, institutional collaboration, and leadership development, while also contributing to SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals through strengthened cooperation among higher education institutions and government stakeholders.
