UBT and SPAMAST Successfully Host Virtual Research Sharing Presentation in Agriculture and Fisheries

June 6, 2024 – The Universitas Borneo Tarakan (UBT) and the Southern Philippines Agribusiness and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) marked a significant milestone in their academic collaboration by successfully conducting a Research Sharing Presentation in Agriculture and Fisheries via virtual teleconferencing.

The event, characterized by intellectual enthusiasm and a spirit of cooperation, brought together esteemed keynote speakers, faculty, and students from both institutions.

The virtual conference featured keynote addresses from Prof. Dr. Mohamad Roem, S.Kel., M.Si, of UBT, and Prof. Dr. Marlyn B. Llameg of SPAMAST, who set an inspiring tone for the day. Institutional heads, Prof. Dr. Adri Patton, M.Si of UBT (represented by Prof. Dr. Dyaya Bakri), and Dr. Lynette A. Bontia of SPAMAST, delivered messages that highlighted the collaborative spirit and commitment to academic excellence underpinning the event.

A diverse range of research presentations from students and faculty members of both UBT and SPAMAST were the focal points of the day. These presentations spanned various topics in agriculture and fisheries, providing a platform for robust academic discourse and the exchange of innovative ideas. This event was collaboratively organized by UBT, under the leadership of Ms. Stephanie Bija, in partnership with SPAMAST’s Office of Internationalization and External Linkages, Institute of Agricultural Sciences and Development Communication (IASDC), Institute of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (IFMS), and Office of Research, Development, and Innovation (RDI).

The success of the Research Sharing Presentation underscores the dedication of UBT and SPAMAST to fostering a vibrant atmosphere of knowledge exchange and academic cooperation.
