The Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) reaffirmed its dedication to advancing research, development, innovation, and extension services during the signing of a 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐌𝐎𝐀) on January 17, 2025, at the SPAMAST Lecture Hall in Malita, Davao Occidental. The remarkable conference emphasized SPAMAST’s commitment to fostering collaboration and promoting initiatives that address pressing societal and environmental challenges.
The MOA formalized a partnership between SPAMAST, represented by the college President, Dr. Lynette A. Bontia, and designated project leaders and members. The signing of the MOA aims to strengthen SPAMAST’s research and extension capabilities by supporting projects aligned with its mandate to implement innovative solutions, enhance community engagement, and adhere to the institution’s high standards of ethics and compliance. The agreement outlines the provision of funding, regular monitoring, and the establishment of clear deliverables, ensuring the alignment of research activities with institutional goals.
The program commenced with a welcome address by Mr. Kher Dave H. Doños, Director for Extension Services, followed by the presentation of “𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚–𝑭𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒅 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒋𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒔” for 2025 by Ms. Junarie Joy M. Tuba. The Director for Research, Development, and Innovation (RDI), Dr. Grace D. Buencillo, provided an overview of the MOA’s noteworthy features, emphasizing its significance in cultivating SPAMAST’s vision of academic excellence and societal contribution. Dr. Lynette Bontia, the college President, delivered an inspirational message, foregrounding the weight of promoting collaboration to achieve sustainable outcomes.
The ceremony concluded with the formal signing of the MOA, witnessed by key SPAMAST officials and faculty members. Dr. Marlyn B. Llameg, Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), delivered the closing remarks, highlighting the institution’s unwavering commitment to research-driven solutions and community impact.
