MALITA, DAVAO OCCIDENTAL | August 18, 2026 — The Southern Philippines Agri-Business, Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) marked another significant milestone in its pursuit of quality and institutional excellence as it concluded its ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Surveillance Audit during the Closing Meeting held on August 18, 2026, at the SPAMAST Lecture Hall.
The two-day surveillance audit assessed the College’s continued conformity and effectiveness in implementing its Quality Management System (QMS), reinforcing its commitment to providing quality services to its students, stakeholders, and the community. ISO 9001:2015 provides a framework for organizations to establish, maintain, and continually improve their quality management systems, with emphasis on consistent service delivery, customer satisfaction, performance evaluation, and continual improvement.
During the Closing Meeting, Mr. Gerard Cayetano, Lead Auditor, presented the results of the audit. Following the assessment, SPAMAST was recommended for the maintenance of its ISO 9001:2015 Certification, affirming the institution’s continued adherence to the requirements of its Quality Management System.
The recommendation reflects the collective commitment of SPAMAST officials, faculty members, administrative personnel, and other stakeholders in sustaining quality-driven processes and continuously improving institutional operations.
In her response, Dr. Lynette A. Bontia, SUC President III, expressed the College’s appreciation for the audit team and acknowledged the dedication of the SPAMAST community in maintaining a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
The Closing Meeting also featured a message from Dr. Jovelyn L. Franca, Director of Quality Assurance, emphasizing the importance of sustaining the gains achieved through the QMS and translating quality standards into meaningful improvements in the delivery of services.
More than a certification, the successful surveillance audit underscores SPAMAST’s continuing commitment to quality, excellence, transparency, and stakeholder satisfaction. It also strengthens the institution’s resolve to continuously improve its systems and processes in support of its mandate as a higher education institution.
The achievement contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, through the pursuit of quality and effective educational services; SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, through strengthened institutional systems and innovation; and SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, through accountable, transparent, and effective institutional governance.
With this milestone, SPAMAST moves forward with renewed commitment to sustaining quality and building a culture of continuous improvement—one process, one service, and one stakeholder at a time.
Quality is not merely a standard to meet; it is a commitment to sustain.
