SPAMAST Participates in CSC Region XI’s “Tree Growing for a Cause” in line with 124th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary

The Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) has initiated the accreditation process for several of its academic programs through a virtual survey visit conducted by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP). The Preliminary and Level 1 Virtual Survey Visit commenced with an opening meeting held on September 16, 2024, at the SPAMAST Auditorium, Malita, Davao Occidental. The virtual survey visit will last until September 20,2024.

SPAMAST President, Dr. Lynette A. Bontia, delivered the opening statement, emphasizing the importance of the accreditation process in ensuring the continuous improvement of the institution’s programs. Dr. Erwin D. Dumagpi, the AACCUP Coordinator from Guimaras State University, introduced the Panel of Accreditors. Additionally, Dr. Mellany A. Tolentino from Mindoro State University, serving as the Preliminary Survey Visit (PSV) Coordinator, detailed the objectives and procedures for the virtual survey visit.

The panel comprised accreditors from various state universities and colleges across the Philippines who participated virtually. Dr. Jovelyn L. Franca, SPAMAST’s Quality Assurance Director, introduced the SPAMAST Internal Assessment Board and the area leaders overseeing the programs to be evaluated.

Following the opening ceremonies, the evaluation process began. Programs undergoing Level 1 Accreditation included the Bachelor in Public Administration, Bachelor in Elementary Education, Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (major in Home Economics and Agri-Fishery Arts), Bachelor of Secondary Education (major in English), BS in Accounting and Information Systems, BS in Agriculture (major in Horticulture), and BS in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering. Meanwhile, the programs subjected to the Preliminary Survey Visit were the BS in Social Work, BS in Criminology, BS in Development Communication, and Master in Business Administration.

This accreditation initiative marks another milestone in SPAMAST’s commitment to delivering quality education and enhancing academic standards.
