Service, sportsmanship, and solidarity took center stage as SPAMAST officially opened the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary through PCSA Sports 2026 on September 9, bringing public servants together in a celebration of teamwork, wellness, and the true spirit of service held at SPAMAST Founder’s Hall, Malita, Davao Occidental.
Carrying the Civil Service Commission’s 2026 anniversary theme, “Puso, Dangal, at Galing Para sa Bayan,” the celebration brought together SPAMAST employees and officials in a spirited gathering that highlighted camaraderie, sportsmanship, teamwork, and public service.
The opening program commenced with registration and preliminaries, followed by the opening remarks of Mr. Sandie O. Aradani, HRMO II. SPAMAST President Dr. Lynette A. Bontia delivered a message emphasizing the importance of unity and excellence among public servants in fulfilling the institution’s mandate and serving the community.
The program also featured the Oath of Sportsmanship, led by Mr. Feljohn Jumao-as, Sports Coordinator, signifying the participants’ commitment to fair play, discipline, respect, and teamwork throughout the competition. The ceremonial Tossing of the Ball by the SPAMAST President and team captains officially signaled the start of the sports activities.
Adding energy to the celebration were the team cheers and yells, followed by a lively Zumba session led by Mx. Vinn Marco S. Miguel and the Kalikha Dancers. The activities provided employees an avenue to engage in physical activity while strengthening workplace relationships beyond their usual professional roles.
Following the opening ceremonies, the various sports events commenced under the supervision of the tournament managers, with employees representing their respective teams competing in the spirit of friendship and healthy competition.
More than a sporting event, PCSA Sports 2026 serves as a reminder that a strong and effective civil service is built not only on competence and dedication but also on unity, well-being, integrity, and a shared commitment to public service. Through activities such as these, SPAMAST continues to foster a workplace culture where employees can connect, collaborate, and inspire one another in pursuing excellence for the Filipino people.
As SPAMAST joins the nationwide observance of the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary, the institution reaffirms its commitment to nurturing public servants who embody puso, dangal, at galing in every aspect of their service.
Through PCSA Sports 2026, SPAMAST advances the spirit of “Puso, Dangal, at Galing Para sa Bayan,” contributing to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, by promoting physical activity and employee wellness, and SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, by strengthening teamwork, integrity, and a culture of responsible and effective public service.
