The Southern Philippines Agri-business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST), through its Guidance and Counseling Office, successfully conducted JOB Fair 2026 on May 20, 2026, at the Founders Hall and Lecture Hall of the institution’s Main Campus. Anchored on the theme, “Bridge to Brilliance: Connecting SPAMAST Talent to Global Success,” the whole-day activity gathered graduating students, alumni, and local job seekers in a dynamic employment engagement aimed at bridging academic preparation and professional opportunities. The institutional job fair served as a strategic platform where participants directly interacted with participating companies, recruitment agencies, and government employment partners, reinforcing SPAMAST’s commitment to career readiness and workforce development.
The activity formally opened with a registration process followed by an opening program that featured audiovisual presentations for the prayer and national anthem. Dr. Marlyn B. Llameg, Vice President for Academic Affairs, delivered the welcome address, emphasizing the importance of equipping students with industry-relevant competencies and preparing them for the demands of an increasingly competitive labor market. Participating companies were introduced by Ms. Deanne Abigail C. Bugawisan of the SPAMAST Job Placement Office, while representatives from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Provincial Office expressed their support for initiatives that promote employment accessibility and sustainable career pathways. The opening program also featured an intermission number from the Socio-Cultural Group, adding energy and inspiration to the gathering.
The job fair proper provided applicants with opportunities for on-site interviews, resume submissions, and direct engagement with prospective employers throughout the day. The activity concluded with the awarding of Certificates of Recognition to participating partners and stakeholders, followed by the closing remarks of Prof. Lalaine M. Gella, RGC, Coordinator of the Guidance and Counseling Office, who underscored the significance of collaboration in shaping the future of young professionals. Organizers noted that the successful conduct of JOB Fair 2026 reflected SPAMAST’s enduring dedication to producing globally competitive graduates and expanding employment opportunities for the community. Moreover, the initiative strongly aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 on Quality Education, SDG 8 on Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG 9 on Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, and SDG 17 on Partnerships for the Goals, by fostering employability, strengthening institutional-industry collaboration, and supporting inclusive economic growth through accessible career opportunities.
