The Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) formally concluded the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) Online Accreditation Survey Visit for the Level III Survey Revisit of its Master of Science in Fisheries Major in Aquaculture program through an Exit Conference held on July 30, 2026. The closing program marked the culmination of the three-day evaluation, providing the College with an overview of the accreditation team’s observations and reaffirming its commitment to sustaining quality graduate education. The conference opened with the preliminaries and an audio-visual presentation, followed by the presentation of the accreditation team’s overall impression by Team Leader Dr. Shiela G. Reyes of Agusan del Sur State University. The survey visit was conducted with fellow accreditors Prof. Grace B. Brizuela of Bicol University and Dr. Anita C. Sornito of the University of Southern Mindanao, who collectively assessed the program’s compliance with AACCUP’s standards for quality assurance.
Responding on behalf of the institution, SPAMAST President Dr. Lynette A. Bontia expressed the College’s gratitude to the accreditation team and reaffirmed the institution’s unwavering commitment to continuously enhancing its academic programs, research, extension, governance, and student support services. The program also featured the awarding of Certificates of Appreciation to the accreditors in recognition of their invaluable expertise and service, followed by the closing remarks of Dr. Jovelyn L. Franca, Director of the Quality Assurance Office, who acknowledged the collective efforts of faculty, staff, administrators, students, alumni, and stakeholders whose dedication contributed to the successful conduct of the survey revisit. The exit conference reflected SPAMAST’s enduring culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement as it advances its vision of delivering responsive and globally competitive graduate education.
The successful completion of the Level III Survey Revisit further strengthens SPAMAST’s pursuit of academic excellence and institutional quality while reinforcing its contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 14 (Life Below Water), SDG 15 (Life on Land), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). By embracing rigorous quality assurance processes and fostering collaborative partnerships, SPAMAST continues to enhance graduate education, promote sustainable fisheries and environmental stewardship, and develop professionals equipped to address the evolving challenges of the aquaculture sector.
