The Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) formally blessed and received its newly constructed Academic Building at the SPAMAST Buhangin Campus on October 1, 2026, marking another milestone in the College’s efforts to strengthen its educational facilities and provide a more conducive environment for learning and academic activities.
The ceremony brought together SPAMAST officials, government representatives, and project partners. Rev. Fr. Judito O. Tampon, DCD, presided over the blessing, while Dr. Janet R. Octura, Vice President for Administration and Finance, delivered the welcome remarks. Messages of support were conveyed by representatives of the Office of Hon. Claude P. Bautista, Congressman of the Lone District of Davao Occidental, Hon. Franklin P. Bautista, Governor, and Hon. Lorna P. Bautista-Bandigan, Vice-Governor. The activity also featured a project overview by Engr. Victor O. Betinganan, Chief of the Construction Division of DPWH ROXI, followed by the formal turnover of the building keys.
Dr. Lynette A. Bontia, SPAMAST President, formally accepted the facility and recognized the collective efforts of the government agencies and stakeholders involved in its completion. The new academic building strengthens SPAMAST’s capacity to provide quality educational services and supports the College’s commitment to SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals
