In celebration of the 125𝒕𝒉 𝑷𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝑪𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒍 𝑺𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝑨𝒏𝒏𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒂𝒓𝒚, the 𝑺𝑷𝑨𝑴𝑨𝑺𝑻 𝑬𝒙𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑶𝒇𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒆, under the leadership of Director Prof. Kher Dave Doños, carried out a community extension activity at the Brgy. Tical Day-Care Center in Malita, Davao Occidental. The initiative focused on the donation of ceiling fans to improve the learning environment of young pupils, while also providing snacks to the children, their parents, and teachers. This activity reflected SPAMAST’s commitment to responsive service, community partnership, and sustainable development in line with the values promoted by the Civil Service Commission.
The program opened with Welcome Remarks from daycare teacher Ma’am Janet Moda, followed by the rationale and inspirational message delivered by Prof. Doños, who underscored the importance of nurturing safe, conducive, and comfortable learning spaces for children. Representing the barangay leadership, Hon. Ricky Manuel, Barangay Kagawad, extended his gratitude to SPAMAST for the meaningful support, noting how such initiatives uplift both educational institutions and local communities. Ms. Elma Geoco, President of the Tical Association for Sustainable Farming, concluded the program with closing remarks that highlighted the value of collaboration between academe and grassroots organizations.
Together with Anna May Baldomero and Angela Jo Jocoy, the SPAMAST Extension team worked hand in hand with community representatives to make the initiative a success. The event, simple yet impactful, serves as a powerful reminder of how education-centered outreach can inspire hope and foster resilience. By aligning the project with the Civil Service Anniversary celebration, SPAMAST reaffirmed its role as a stronghold of service and a catalyst of positive change in Davao Occidental.
