SPAMAST-BSABE Triumphs at CODEE XI 15th Engineering Congress 2025

Matina, Davao City – April 14-15, 2025 — The Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST), through its Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (BSABE), made an indelible mark during the 15th Engineering Congress of the Consortium of Deans of Engineering Education in Region XI (CODEE XI), held at Mapua Malayan Colleges Mindanao, Matina, Davao City. With the theme “Global Engineering for Sustainable Impact: Innovating through Science, Technology, and Sustainable Cities,” the annual congress brought together engineering students, educators, and professionals from State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) across Region XI. The event served as a platform for showcasing academic excellence, technical prowess, and innovative ideas aligned with the global movement for sustainable development.

Despite being among the smaller contingents in attendance, SPAMAST-BSABE displayed exceptional commitment and competitiveness throughout the two-day event. Their performance not only highlighted the talent and capability of the BS Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (BSABE) students but also uplifted the reputation of SPAMAST as a provider of quality engineering education.

The SPAMAST delegation emerged victorious in several key competitions:

The students were mentored and coached by Engr. Al Kristian Lou V. Presente and Engr. Doreen Mae D. Gayo, whose guidance and support greatly contributed to the team’s stellar performance.

In addition to their major wins, SPAMAST-BSABE also earned notable rankings in other prestigious events, including the Intercollegiate Quiz Show, Bridge Making Competition, and Engineering Got Talent, showcasing the diverse skills and holistic development of its engineering students.

The 2025 Engineering Congress served as a milestone for SPAMAST-DABE, solidifying its position among the top-performing institutions in the region. Their success is a testament to the department’s unwavering pursuit of academic excellence and innovation in engineering education.
