Malita, Davao Occidental – Championing the spirit of women empowerment, female employees from the Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) proudly stood alongside local leaders and advocates at 𝑴𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒂’𝒔 2025 𝑾𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏’𝒔 𝑴𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒉 𝑪𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏. Hosted by the 𝑾𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏‘𝒔 𝑨𝒔𝒔𝒐𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝑴𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒂 bolstered by the Local Government Unit (LGU) of the said Municipality on March 20, 2025, at the New Malita Gym, the event became a powerful platform for dialogue, advocacy, and recognition of women’s invaluable contributions to society.
The celebration commenced with a symbolic Pilgrim Walk, followed by a solemn Holy Mass, setting a reflective tone for the day’s proceedings. During the program proper, Hon. Bianca Ricci Bautista-Navarra, FABC President, welcomed the attendees, while WAM President Mdm. Jean Seekins-Bautista delivered an inspiring message on the enduring resilience of women in leadership. Hon. Claudine Diana Bautista-Lim of the DUMPER Partylist, represented by an official delegate, reinforced the legislative strides aimed at fostering women’s economic and social empowerment. Similarly, Hon. Celine Sarah Bautista-Falgui, the Partylist’s 2nd nominee, expressed unwavering support for policies promoting gender equality and inclusivity.
Adding further weight to the occasion, representatives from key government officials, including Davao Occidental Governor Hon. Atty. Franklin P. Bautista, Vice-Governor Hon. Lorna Bautista-Bandigan, and Malita’s Municipal Mayor Hon. Bradly L. Bautista conveyed their leaders’ commitment to programs advancing women’s welfare and community leadership. Municipal Councilor Hon. Girly D. Licuan, wrapped up the event with a call for sustained efforts in championing gender-responsive governance.
Beyond the formalities, the celebration embodied unity and empowerment through vibrant activities such as Zumba, traditional Larong Lahi games, and an awarding ceremony recognizing outstanding women in the community. The participation of SPAMAST’s women representatives emphasizes the institution’s dedication to amplifying strong female leadership and advocacy.
