On January 21, 2025, 𝑫𝒓. 𝑳𝒚𝒏𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒆 𝑨. 𝑩𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒂, 𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕 of the Southern Philippines Agribusiness and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST), joined academic leaders from selected state colleges and universities across the Philippines at the 47th Foundation Anniversary celebration of Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU). The event took place at the Teatro Ilocandia, located on the MMSU Main Campus.
A key highlight of the event was the presentation of the 𝐀𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐄𝐕𝐄 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐞, which showcased the university’s remarkable progress from 2017 to 2024. The presentation was delivered by 𝐃𝐫. 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐂. 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐢𝐬, the former President of MMSU, who currently serves as a Commissioner at the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
Following the milestone presentation, a special retirement program was held in honor of Dr. Agrupis, celebrating her outstanding contributions to MMSU throughout her tenure.
In line with the event’s theme of strengthening partnerships in higher education, 𝐒𝐏𝐀𝐌𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐚 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 (𝐌𝐎𝐔) 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐌𝐒𝐔. This agreement aims to explore opportunities for collaboration and mutual growth between the two universities, fostering expanded partnerships that will benefit both institutions and their respective communities.
The partnership is expected to 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐮𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜, 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬, further enhancing the role of higher education institutions in shaping the future of the Philippines.
