The Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) held its monthly convocation on January 13,2025 at the SPAMAST Auditorium, Malita Campus, in celebration of the International Day of Clean Energy. Themed “Clean Energy for People and Planet,” the event was organized by the Institute of Business Management and Governance, under the leadership of its OIC Dean, Prof. Jesse Roy M. Alcaraz.
The program emphasized the value of integrity, a central focus of the week, which was insightfully discussed by Prof. Glenford Franca, SPAMAST’s Values Restoration Officer. Prof. Franca underscored the significance of integrity as a cornerstone of individual and institutional success.
The event was graced by Mr. Forester Rendentor Magno, Chief of the Technical Service Division of DENR PENRO, Davao Occidental, as the guest speaker. Mr. Magno shared his expertise on sustainable clean energy practices and their pivotal role in preserving the environment for future generations. He also discussed how clean energy initiatives align with national and global environmental goals.
SPAMAST President, Dr. Lynette A. Bontia, delivered a heartfelt message, expressing her gratitude to Mr. Magno for his inspiring insights. Dr. Bontia emphasized the institution’s commitment to upholding integrity and its support for clean energy initiatives. She encouraged the SPAMAST community to actively engage in promoting sustainable practices for the benefit of the planet.
The convocation served as a platform to deepen awareness about clean energy and its importance in combating climate change while reinforcing the core value of integrity as a guiding principle for personal and professional endeavors.
