The Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) Sta. Maria Extension Class conducted its Academic Convocation 2026 under the theme, “Igniting Excellence, Inspiring the Future,” bringing together students, faculty, personnel, and community partners in a meaningful celebration of academic commitment and student development. Among the program’s key highlights was the Message of Support from Hon. Benjamin Claude II Bautista, Municipal Mayor, delivered by Mr. Roberto A. Estremos, the SPAMAST LGU Focal, affirms the local government’s continuing support for accessible and meaningful educational opportunities in the community.

The convocation also featured the Guest Speaker Address of Prof. Lalaine Gella, RGC, MA, SPAMAST Director for Student Affairs and Service Office, who emphasized the importance of developing students beyond academic competencies by nurturing character, responsibility, and readiness for future challenges. The program further highlighted the leadership of Dr. Lynette A. Bontia, College President, who presented certificates and delivered the President’s Message, reinforcing SPAMAST’s commitment to academic excellence, holistic student development, and an educational environment that prepares learners to contribute meaningfully to society.

The gathering concluded with the Closing Remarks of Jesse A. Colonia, LPT, Campus Manager, reaffirming the collective responsibility of the institution and its partners in sustaining quality education at the extension level. The SPAMAST Academic Convocation 2026 reflects the College’s broader commitment to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by strengthening inclusive education, student empowerment, institutional leadership, and community collaboration.
