The program opened with ceremonial hymns and a creative intermission performance by selected BSED English students, setting an enthusiastic tone for the culmination rites.

College Librarian Mrs. Ivy A. Ortega delivered the opening remarks, underscoring the vital role of libraries as gateways to knowledge and critical thinking. English majors facilitated the flow of the event, presenting the criteria and mechanics for the various contests that showcased student and faculty talents. A highlight of the program was the awarding of winners in several categories, including the Poster Making Contest, Mr. & Ms. Vision, Top Visitor, Net-Savvy, and Bookworm of the Year. These recognitions celebrated creativity, consistent library engagement, and responsible digital literacyโ€”qualities that collectively reinforce SPAMASTโ€™s mission of nurturing academic excellence.

In her message, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Marlyn B. Llameg, represented by the Director for Curriculum andย  Instruction, Dr. Fe Canoy, commended the participants for their dedication to learning and encouraged the community to sustain their passion for reading beyond the celebration. She emphasized that literacy remains a powerful tool in shaping informed, resilient, and future-ready individuals. The eventโ€™s advocacy strongly aligns with the United Nationsโ€™ 17 Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), as it promotes inclusive access to learning, supports innovation through literacy and creativity, and uplifts diverse learners by strengthening equitable educational opportunities.
