Armed with the green thumb, various stakeholders joined the Tree Planting Activity in relation to the celebration of the Philippine Arbor Day every 25th of June, pursuant to Presidential Decree No. 643 and Republic Act No. 10176, at Sitio Matamis, Barangay Demoloc, Malita, Davao Occidental.
Initiated by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Provincial Office, several government agencies and institutions partook in the event, making a significant contribution to the government’s efforts to alleviate the impact of climate change.
Geared with environmental drive, the SPAMAST, represented by the Extension Services Office, manifested care in conserving and protecting the environment by planting Narra and Molave seedlings across designated areas. The activity ended with the distribution of certificates and some words of gratitude from its organizers.
It is true enough that our micro efforts in protecting the planet can possibly create macro effects that will benefit not only the current but also future generations.
