SPAMAST Strengthens Partnership with DepEd Davao Occidental and CAMACOP Through Memorandum of Agreement

In a significant step towards enhancing teacher training and education, the Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) formalized a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Education (DepEd) Division of Davao Occidental and the Christian and Missionary Alliance Churches of the Philippines (CAMACOP). The MOA signing was held at the SPAMAST Conference Room, 3rd Floor, Administrative Building, Malita, Davao Occidental.

The Institute of Teacher Education and Information Technology (ITEIT) organized the event under the leadership of its Dean, Dr. Karen E. Cabalquinto. The agreement focuses on providing pre-service teachers with field study opportunities and teaching internships, enabling them to gain valuable hands-on experience in real-world classroom settings.

In her message, SPAMAST President Dr. Lynette A. Bontia highlighted the importance of collaborative partnerships in nurturing the next generation of educators. She expressed her gratitude to DepEd Davao Occidental and CAMACOP for their commitment to this productive alliance, empowering future teachers with the skills and experience needed to succeed in their profession.

Dr. Rommel R. Jandayan, the Officer-in-Charge Superintendent of DepEd Davao Occidental, also delivered a message of support to SPAMAST. He assured that the safety and welfare of pre-service teachers in all DepEd schools under his jurisdiction would be a top priority and guaranteed that they would not be taken advantage of during their internships. Dr. Jandayan emphasized the vital role of cooperation between educational institutions in improving the quality of education in the region.

Pstr. Joeram A. Edianon, the School Administrator of Malita Sunrise Learning Center under CAMACOP, expressed his gratitude for the inclusion of early childhood education in the partnership. He shared his enthusiasm for providing work opportunities for neophyte teachers through CAMACOP. He emphasized that their institutions could serve as a training ground for new teachers, offering valuable experience before they transition into permanent positions.

This MOA marks a significant milestone for SPAMAST, DepEd Davao Occidental, and CAMACOP, as they work together to support and strengthen the education sector in Davao Occidental, ensuring that pre-service teachers are well-prepared and protected as they begin their careers in shaping young minds.
