SPAMAST Participants in Seminar-Workshop on Outcomes-Based Quality Assurance in Manila

Manila, Philippines – July 9-11, 2025 — Representatives from the Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) actively participated in the onsite Seminar-Workshop on Outcomes-Based Quality Assurance: An Overview for New Accreditors, Internal Quality Assurance, and Non-Academic Personnel held at Century Park Hotel, 599 P. Ocampo Street, Malate, Manila.

The three-day seminar-workshop aimed to equip participants with a comprehensive understanding of outcomes-based quality assurance (OBQA), a framework essential in fostering a culture of excellence and accountability in higher education institutions. The training focused on orienting new accreditors and internal quality assurance (IQA) teams, as well as engaging non-academic personnel in the continuous improvement process.

SPAMAST was represented by a delegation composed of Dr. Jonel Mark Sarno, Dr. Fe T. Canoy, Prof. Michelle M. Elemino, Prof. Antonette R. Albarracin, and Ms. Marcelle Jan M. Cirunay. Their participation highlights the institution’s commitment to strengthening its internal quality assurance mechanisms and aligning institutional practices with national and international standards.

The event brought together academic leaders, quality assurance officers, and support staff from various higher education institutions across the country, fostering a collaborative environment for the exchange of ideas and best practices in quality assurance.

This initiative supports SPAMAST’s vision of delivering quality education and services through proactive participation in capacity-building activities geared toward institutional development and accreditation readiness.
