In celebration of the 124th Philippine Civil Service Commission (CSC) Anniversary, the Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) successfully conducted a two-day training on advertising and social media marketing for small-scale entrepreneurs in Malita, Davao Occidental. This initiative, held on September 8 and 9, 2024, is part of the Institute of Agricultural Sciences and Development Communication’s extension program, organized by the Development Communication program in coordination with the SPAMAST Extension Service Office.
The first day of the training took place at Barangay Buhangin, while the second day was held at Barangay Sanghay, both in Malita. The activity aimed to equip local entrepreneurs with the essential knowledge and skills to leverage digital platforms for business growth and sustainability.
Ms. Julie Ann Marie J. Intong, a digital marketer and entrepreneur residing in Malita, served as the resource person for the training. With her expertise in online marketing strategies, she guided participants on effectively using social media and advertising techniques to promote their products and services.
The program was spearheaded by Prof. Amelie S. Sarile, project leader and faculty member of the Development Communication program. Through hands-on activities and practical discussions, the participants gained valuable insights into enhancing their business visibility and attracting a broader customer base using digital tools.
This extension and outreach activity is part of SPAMAST’s commitment to empowering its stakeholders, particularly small-scale entrepreneurs, by providing opportunities for growth and development in the increasingly digitalized marketplace. The event also aligned with the “Linggo ng Malasakit sa Kapwa” theme of the CSC Anniversary, emphasizing the importance of service and care for the community.
