On September 2, 2024, the Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) conducted a comprehensive orientation for parents and students at its extension class located in the Municipality of Sta. Maria. This event, which took place at the Girls Scout Building, Tibungoy Road, Poblacion, Sta Maria, Davao Occidental served as an important step in ensuring that both students and their families are well-informed and prepared for the upcoming academic year.
The orientation was graced by several key officials from SPAMAST. Dr. Fe T. Canoy, the Director for Instruction, led the program and provided an overview of the academic policies and procedures. Dr. Aldwin T. Miranda, the Director for Student Services, discussed the various student support services available, ensuring that students are aware of the resources that can assist them throughout their academic journey.
Assistant Professor Lalaine Gella, the Director for Admission, detailed the admission processes, while Ms. Ritchell Ann Hervas, the Student Organizations Development Officer (SODO) Coordinator, highlighted the opportunities for student involvement in various campus organizations. Scholarship Coordinator Mr. Ronnie Liwantang provided vital information on available scholarship programs, encouraging students to take advantage of these opportunities to further their education.
The event was also attended by the faculty members assigned to the Sta. Maria extension, as well as students, parents, and employees of the local government unit (LGU) of Sta. Maria with Ms. Amalia Cabangbang, LYDO of Sta. Maria. The active participation of the LGU employees emphasized the strong partnership between SPAMAST and the local government, aimed at enhancing educational access and quality for the community.
This orientation marks another successful collaboration between SPAMAST and the Municipality of Sta. Maria, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to providing quality education and fostering a supportive environment for its students.
