Technology Demonstration and Transfer: Driving Innovation for a Sustainable Future

Malita, Davao Occidental – February 4, 2025 – The Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) marked its 43rd founding anniversary with a Technology Demonstration and Technology Transfer event at the SPAMAST Auditorium facilitated by the Extension Services Office. The program, attended by students, farmers, and fisherfolk, showcased innovative technologies and best practices in agriculture and fisheries. Hosted by Mr. Jimrec Cabanay, the event opened with an inspiring message from Mr. Kher Dave H. Doños, Director of the Extension Services Office, followed by a warm address from SUC President Dr. Lynette A. Bontia, emphasizing the institution’s commitment to research and extension, she recognized the resilience of farmers and fisherfolk, who battle unpredictable weather, rising costs, and limited resources, yet continue their vital role in feeding communities.
The highlight of the event was the technology demonstration led by SPAMAST’s academic institutes: ETEIT, IFMS, IBMG, and IASDC. These demonstrations provided participants with hands-on learning experiences and research, promoting modern techniques for sustainable future. Additionally, SANTEH Feeds Corporation, the event’s guest, conducted an information drive on advanced feed technology, further enriching the knowledge of local fish farmers.
Concluding the event, Mr. Dexter Neil Guden, Extension Coordinator, expressed gratitude to all attendees and highlighted the significance of knowledge-sharing in community development. The Technology Demonstration and Transfer not only celebrated SPAMAST’s legacy but also reinforced its mission of empowering local communities through education, research, and innovation.
