Strengthening Rural Development: ESO Conducts PRA in Don Marcelino and Balut Island

The Extension Services Office (ESO) of SPAMAST, under the leadership of Director Kher Dave H. Doños, successfully conducted the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) activities in the Municipalities of Davao Occidental.
This initiative, strongly supported by the dedicated ESO staff, is a continuation of the recently concluded PRA activities in Malita and Sta. Maria. The extension team carried out the activity in Don Marcelino on April 10, 2025, and in Balut Island on April 23–25, 2025.
The PRA was made possible through close coordination with the respective Municipal Agricultural Offices (MAO) of the four municipalities, ensuring effective community engagement and smooth field operations. Through participatory methods, local farmers, fishers, and community stakeholders collaborated with the team to assess local resources, identify pressing issues, and plan strategic interventions for rural development.
The Extension Services Office extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Municipal Agriculturists and their staff for their invaluable support, and to the farmers/community of Don Marcelino and Balut Island for their enthusiastic participation.
