Davao City, June 19, 2025 — In a remarkable celebration of youth innovation and agricultural excellence, the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office XI (DA-RFO XI), through its Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD), is set to honor the most promising young agripreneurs in the region at the 2024 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒈 𝑭𝒂𝒓𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒈𝒆 (𝒀𝑭𝑪) 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑹𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑳𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒍 𝑨𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑪𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒐𝒏𝒚. The event, which takes place today at 9:30 AM at the World Palace Business Center, Davao City, brings together passionate student-entrepreneurs and agri-leaders from across the region—including awardees from the Southern Philippines Agri-Business, Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST), proudly led by President Dr. Lynette A. Bontia.
Originally slated for June 20, the awarding ceremony was moved a day earlier due to scheduling conflicts, but the anticipation remains high. The Young Farmers Challenge program stands as a cornerstone initiative of the Department of Agriculture, purposefully designed to cultivate entrepreneurial spirit among Filipino youth. It addresses the alarming decline in the country’s agricultural workforce by igniting innovation, resilience, and leadership in the next generation of food producers. Through this platform, participants are empowered to build sustainable, profitable agri-enterprises—driving both rural development and national food security forward.
In recognition of their outstanding contributions, three SPAMAST Intercollegiate Awardees will be attending the ceremony donning traditional Filipiniana and Barong attire—symbols of cultural pride and honor befitting this milestone. Their presence, alongside the institution’s top leadership, not only underscores SPAMAST’s steadfast support of agripreneurship but also affirms its commitment to transforming agriculture into a dynamic, youth-driven frontier. As the ceremony unfolds, it promises to be more than a moment of triumph—it is a clarion call for young Filipinos to sow the seeds of progress in the fertile fields of the nation’s future.
