Organized by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Region XI, in partnership with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) XI, USeP, and the City Government of Davao, through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), the forum aims to empower students and job seekers with accurate and practical knowledge on pursuing work abroad.

The event brought together representatives from key agencies, including the DMW, the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), and other legal entities. These experts delivered comprehensive presentations on vital topics such as the legal processes involved in overseas employment, the dangers of illegal recruitment, contract verification, and the rights and responsibilities of migrant workers.

The forum emphasized the pre-deployment process, how to access government support, and the importance of choosing legitimate recruitment agencies. Participants also received valuable insights on adapting to diverse work cultures and maintaining mental health and well-being while working abroad.

Catherine Villaflores, Chief Labor and Employment Officer of DMW Region XI, and Derrick Dale Intod, Labor Employment Officer I of DMW Region II, served as resource speakers. Their sessions provided participants with actionable strategies and real-world examples to guide them in making informed decisions about overseas employment.

The event served as a crucial platform in promoting safe, legal, and sustainable international career pathways for aspiring Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), reinforcing the government’s commitment to protecting and equipping Filipino migrants with the knowledge and resources they need for success.
