Davao City — October 1–2, 2025
The Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) actively participated in the Research Mentorship Program on Proposal Development, a joint initiative of the Philippine Genome Center Mindanao and the Regional Health Research and Development Consortium Region XI (RHRDC XI), held at Apo View Hotel, Davao City.
Representing SPAMAST were Mr. Ranil P. Baguio, Mr. Gary P. Lihaylihay, Mr. Justin F. Biboso, and Prof. Imelda R. Lauron, who engaged in mentorship sessions designed to strengthen research proposal development skills. The program provided valuable guidance for researchers and faculty members in enhancing the quality and relevance of health-related research in the region.
As part of the 15th Health Research and Development (R&D) Expo, the Department of Health – Davao Center for Health Development (DOH-DCHD), in collaboration with RHRDC XI, also conducted a parallel session on the Dissemination of DOH-Approved Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs). This activity aimed to provide a platform for research dissemination and to explore the implications of the CPGs on policy, practice, and future research directions in Mindanao.
SPAMAST’s active participation underscores its commitment to advancing research and innovation while contributing to evidence-based practices that address regional and national health priorities. This initiative also aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, SDG 4: Quality Education, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by promoting health research, capacity-building, and collaborative partnerships in the region.
