SPAMAST Strengthens Instructional Competence Through TOS and Test Construction Training

With a steadfast commitment to academic excellence and transformative education, the Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) raised the bar once again by hosting a TOS Preparation and Test Construction training on September 9, 2025, at the SPAMAST Founder’s Hall.

This timely initiative wasn’t just another academic event, it was a call to action. A call to ensure that every assessment tool used in the institution reflects fairness, accuracy, and most importantly, learning outcomes that truly matter.

In her opening remarks, Dr. Marlyn B. Llamed, Vice President for Academic Affairs, emphasized the institution’s mission to elevate the quality of instruction through intentional and research-based practices.

A distinguished panel of speakers facilitated the core session on TOS Preparation and Test Construction. Among them were:

Dr. Aldwin T. Miranda, Dean of the Institute of Teacher Education

Dr. Karen E. Cabalquinto, Dean of the Institute of Graduate and Professional Studies

Dr. Fe T. Canoy, Director for Instruction

They challenged the faculty to rethink how assessments are designed, ensuring they are valid, reliable, and aligned with course objectives and student needs.

As SPAMAST continues to move toward its 2028 vision of becoming a premier higher education institution, initiatives like this are not just milestones—they are movements. Movements that empower educators. Movements that inspire change. Movements that build a brighter academic future for all.
