The Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) joined the 1st Local Statistics Committee (LSC) Summit organized by the Philippine Statistics Authority – Regional Statistical Services Office XI (PSA RSSO XI) in celebration of the 36th National Statistics Month (NSM), held on October 27–28, 2025, at Grand Hotel, Davao City.
Representing SPAMAST was Atty. Ophelia Delute, Director for Planning, who attended the two-day event that gathered members of Provincial and City Statistics Committees across the Davao Region. The summit aimed to strengthen local statistical coordination and foster synergy among data-driven institutions and local government units.
With the theme “LSC Synergy for Data-Driven Development: Advancing the SDGs from the Ground Up,” the event focused on enhancing evidence-based policymaking to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It also emphasized the role of local statistics committees in harmonizing data systems and advancing governance anchored on reliable, inclusive, and timely data.
The summit featured plenary and breakout sessions, exhibits, and interactive activities that highlighted the best practices of Local Statistics Committees (LSCs) in promoting data-driven planning and decision-making.
SPAMAST’s participation in this inaugural event reaffirms its commitment to strengthening institutional planning and data utilization in support of regional and national development priorities. Through the representation of Atty. Delute, SPAMAST continues to uphold its mission of contributing to evidence-based governance and sustainable growth in the Davao Region.
