The Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) actively participated in the Davao Region Industry, Energy and Emerging Technologies Research and Development Consortium (DRIEERDC) Strategic Planning and General Assembly held on December 11–12, 2025, at the University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC) Main Campus, F. Selga Street, Davao City.
SPAMAST was represented by Dr. Edelyn S. Albiso, Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Development Extension, who joined consortium members from various higher education institutions, research agencies, and industry partners across the Davao Region. The activity aimed to strengthen regional collaboration, align institutional research priorities, and craft strategic directions responsive to industry, energy, and emerging technology needs.
The two-day assembly provided a platform for reviewing accomplishments, review of the organizational mission, vision, and values, setting shared priorities that support inclusive growth and sustainable development in the region. Discussions emphasized innovation-driven research, technology commercialization, capacity building, and partnerships among academia, industry, government, and communities.
SPAMAST’s participation reaffirmed its commitment to advancing research and development initiatives that are responsive to regional and national development agendas, particularly in the areas of innovation, sustainable energy, and industry linkages.
Through its engagement in the DRIEERDC Strategic Planning and General Assembly, SPAMAST contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—notably SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals)—by fostering collaborative, innovation-driven research that supports sustainable and inclusive regional development.
