Representatives from the Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) attended the 1st Higher Education Summit on Stakeholders’ Convergence Towards a Holistic Social Reintegration, held on March 19-20, 2025, at the University of the Immaculate Conception, Davao City.
The Davao City Justice Zone (DCJZ) organized the event in coordination with the Commission on Higher Education Region XI (CHED XI). The summit aligns with Republic Act No. 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and Executive Order No. 66, which institutionalizes the Philippine Anti-Illegal Drugs Strategy (PADS).
SPAMAST was represented by Mrs. Ritchell Ann Hervas, Students Organization, and Disciplinary Office Coordinator; Mr. Joeper Abella, Medical and Dental Coordinator; Ms. Margaret E. Depalubos, SPAMAST Guidance Associate; and Ms. Lailanie Cabigas, Supreme Student Government (SSG) Adviser.
The summit gathered key stakeholders from higher education institutions, government agencies, and civil society organizations to discuss strategies for a more inclusive and effective social reintegration process for individuals affected by drug-related issues. Participants engaged in discussions on policies, best practices, and collaborative initiatives aimed at fostering a drug-free academic environment and supporting affected individuals in their reintegration into society.
