MANILA, Philippines – Demonstrating its continued commitment to academic excellence and institutional quality, the Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) was represented by its President, Dr. Lynette A. Bontia, and the Director for Quality Assurance, Dr. Jovelyn L. Franca, at the 2nd National Network of Quality Assurance Agencies (NNQAA) Quality Assurance Summit and Conferment Ceremony 2026.

Held from March 5 to 7, 2026 at The Heritage Hotel, Manila, the summit carried the theme “Responsible Future: Quality Assurance in Action.” The event gathered quality assurance leaders, education experts, and representatives from State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) and Local Colleges and Universities (LCUs) across the country.

The summit served as a vital platform for recognizing accredited higher education institutions while fostering meaningful dialogue on sustainability, innovation, global alignment, and resilience in education. These discussions aim to strengthen institutional quality assurance systems and ensure that higher education institutions remain responsive to the demands of a rapidly evolving academic landscape.

During the event, participants engaged in knowledge-sharing sessions, strategic discussions, and collaborative exchanges that highlighted best practices in quality assurance and institutional development. Such engagements help institutions enhance their academic standards, strengthen governance systems, and align with global educational frameworks.

The participation of Dr. Bontia and Dr. Franca underscores SPAMAST’s dedication to continuously improving institutional performance and ensuring that its academic programs, research initiatives, and extension services meet national and international quality standards.

Through its active involvement in national quality assurance initiatives and collaboration with various educational institutions and agencies, SPAMAST further reinforces its commitment to strengthening partnerships and promoting excellence in higher education.

This initiative contributes to the attainment of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by fostering collaborative efforts and strengthening institutional capacity to deliver quality and sustainable education.
