The celebration of the 44th Founding Anniversary of the Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) reached its high point on February 8, 2026, as the institution marked its culmination with a ceremonial motorcade followed by a grand program at the SPAMAST Founder’s Hall in Malita, Davao Occidental. The motorcade, rolling through the streets with pride and purpose, symbolized SPAMAST’s enduring journey of service, growth, and commitment to the community it serves.
Anchored on the theme “Quality, Innovation, and Global Standards,” the culminating program reflected the institution’s steady transformation into a center of excellence in education, research, and extension. The event gathered the SPAMAST family and its partners in a shared celebration of legacy and forward-looking vision.
Serving as the Guest Speaker was Dr. Anthony C. Sales, Regional Director of the Department of Science and Technology Region XI (DOST XI), who was ably represented by Dir. Maria Victoria Dado, Provincial Director of the Provincial Science and Technology Office–DOST Davao Occidental. In her message, Dir. Dado emphasized the indispensable role of science, technology, and innovation in empowering higher education institutions to produce globally competitive graduates and locally responsive solutions.
The culmination was graced by the presence of Members of the SPAMAST Board of Trustees and Top Management, together with distinguished guests and partner agencies from the private sector and national government organizations. Joining them were the Presidents of partner State Universities and Colleges, former SPAMAST Presidents, retirees, faculty and staff, and students, all bearing witness to the institution’s shared history and collective aspirations.
More than a closing activity, the culmination served as a moment of reflection and renewal—honoring four decades of milestones while reaffirming SPAMAST’s commitment to quality assurance, innovation-driven instruction, and alignment with global standards. As SPAMAST moves forward, the celebration stood as a reminder that its strength lies not only in the years it has endured, but in the vision it continues to pursue.
