The Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST), through its Online Teaching Mobility Programs, proudly presents the 2025 International Learning Series (ILS) in Language and Linguistics — a platform designed to foster international academic collaboration and knowledge exchange among language educators and learners across Asia.
The ILS will feature a distinguished lineup of lecturers from Cambodia, the Philippines, and Indonesia, each bringing unique expertise and insights into the evolving landscape of language education and linguistics.
The series opens on September 10, 2025, with Lay Neary, MA, a Teacher Trainer from the National Institute of Education, Cambodia. She will discuss “Current Trends in Language Teaching and Learning,” exploring innovative pedagogical strategies and methodologies shaping English language instruction in today’s global context.
On September 17, 2025, Dr. Jerson S. Catoto, Associate Professor in Linguistics at Cotabato Foundation College of Science and Technology, Philippines, will tackle “Current Approaches in Linguistics” and “Forensic Linguistics.” His session will delve into the analytical and applied aspects of language studies, including linguistic evidence and language documentation.
The final session on October 7, 2025, featured Sultoni, SS, M.Pd, Lecturer in the Language Education Program at Universitas Wahidiyah Kediri, Indonesia. His lecture, “Active Listening to Improve Speaking and Pronunciation Skills in English,” emphasizes the effective communication techniques and skill-building strategies for language learners.
The International Learning Series (ILS) serves as a testament to SPAMAST’s commitment to internationalization and academic excellence through global linkages and collaboration.
