In commitment to disaster preparedness and resilience, the Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) actively participated in the 1st Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on March 13, 2025, at 3:00 PM across its campuses and extension classes, specifically in Malita, Brgy. Buhangin-Annex, Sta. Maria, and Jose Abad Santos in Davao Occidental.

This initiative aligns with the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) Memorandum No. 027, s. 2025 and the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) XI Memorandum No. 011, s. 2025, which mandated the conduct of the CY 2025 Quarterly Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill. SPAMAST students, faculty, and staff demonstrated their commitment to safety by practicing the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” protocol and executing emergency evacuation procedures.

The drill was conducted simultaneously across the country and was broadcast via Facebook Live through the Civil Defense FB page.
