
The Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) participated in the DICT Region 11 and ILCDB Partnership Summit 2025, held on November 28 at the Apo View Hotel in Davao City. Representing the institution was Dr. Rey H. Gonzales, Director of the Management Information System (MIS), who attended in response to the formal invitation extended to the institution. The summit, themed “Walang Iwanan sa Digital Bayanihan,” brought together government agencies, ICT leaders, and academic institutions to strengthen nationwide collaboration on digital literacy and ICT competency.
Throughout the event, participants engaged in discussions centered on addressing digital disparities, enhancing capacity-building programs, and reinforcing multi-sector partnerships essential for the country’s digital transformation. DICT Region 11 Regional Director Evamay C. Dela Rosa emphasized the importance of united action in building a digitally empowered nation, highlighting the critical role of institutions like SPAMAST in shaping ICT-ready communities. The summit’s program featured expert insights, networking opportunities, and collaborative exchanges that underscored the value of academic sector participation in national ICT initiatives.
SPAMAST’s involvement in the Partnership Summit 2025 reaffirmed its commitment to advancing ICT development and strengthening its collaborations with key digital stakeholders. The institution’s participation aligns strongly with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), as the summit promoted equitable access to digital learning, fostered innovation, and enhanced cooperative action toward a sustainable and inclusive digital future.
