SPAMAST Hosts Workshop on Crafting Research Proposals for Agriculture, Aquatic and Marine Science Davao Occidental

The Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) successfully conducted a two-day workshop on “Crafting Research Proposals for Agriculture, Aquatic, and Marine Science” on February 12–13, 2025. The Office of Research, Development, and Innovation spearheaded the event to enhance the research capabilities of faculty members and researchers in the aforecited fields. 

Dr. Nathan Ray A. Lim, the esteemed lecturer for the workshop, guided participants through an in-depth discussion on the key components of a research proposal. He emphasized the importance of crafting well-structured proposals that align with the Department of Science and Technology’s (DOST) research priorities. His lectures covered essential aspects such as identifying research gaps, formulating clear objectives, designing sound methodologies, and ensuring relevance to national development goals. 

The workshop featured interactive sessions where participants actively engaged in proposal writing exercises, received personalized feedback, and collaborated with peers to refine their research concepts. This initiative underscores SPAMAST’s commitment to fostering a strong research culture and supporting innovations that advance agriculture, aquatic, and marine sciences. 

According to the Office of Research, Development, and Innovation, the workshop is part of SPAMAST’s broader efforts to elevate research quality and encourage faculty and researchers to pursue funding opportunities for their studies.
