Malita, Davao Occidental – September 10, 2025 – The Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST), in partnership with the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), successfully conducted a Pre-Retirement Seminar on September 10, 2025, at the SPAMAST Library AVR in Malita, Davao Occidental. The event aimed to prepare employees for a smooth transition into retirement by equipping them with essential knowledge about GSIS benefits, retirement processes, and financial planning.
Mr. Sandie O. Aradani, HRMO II, introduced the resource speaker, Mr. Oscar Paul B. Fortuna, GSIS Branch Manager – Davao City, who led the orientation proper. Mr. Fortuna provided a comprehensive discussion on GSIS programs and services, with emphasis on retirement packages, pension benefits, and financial management.
The seminar also featured an open forum, allowing participants to raise questions and clarify concerns regarding their future retirement plans.
In closing, Dr. Marlyn B. Llameg, Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), encouraged employees to take advantage of the information shared and to actively prepare for their retirement years.
Through this initiative, SPAMAST and GSIS reaffirmed their shared commitment to ensuring the welfare of government employees by helping them prepare for a secure and dignified retirement.
