Employees of the Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) participated in a hands-on emergency response training at the institution’s Main Campus, Malita Davao Occidental on July 31,2024. The training was facilitated by the Malita Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Emergency Operations Center.
The first day of the training covered crucial skills such as basic first aid and triage, wound dressing, and the fundamentals of vital sign monitoring. Participants also learned about effective emergency response management. The training aimed to equip SPAMAST employees with essential skills to respond efficiently in emergencies.
As part of the initiative, SPAMAST identified employees to join the SPAMAST Emergency Response Team (SERT). These employees, who participated in the training, will serve as the institution’s front line in handling emergencies, ensuring a safer environment for the campus community.
