SPAMAST Holds Convocation Program Honoring Teachers and Indigenous Heritage Malita, Davao Occidental – October 6, 2025

The Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) held a meaningful Convocation Program on October 6, 2025, at the SPAMAST Founder’s Hall, Malita, Davao Occidental, in celebration of World Teachers’ Day and National Indigenous Peoples’ Month.

With the theme “Recasting Teaching as a Collaborative Profession, and Honoring Indigenous Heritage,” the event highlighted the indispensable role of teachers as agents of transformation and honored the invaluable contributions of indigenous peoples to education and culture.

Hosted by the Institute of Teacher Education (ITED), the program was graced by Mr. Saidamin T. Solutan, who served as the Resource Speaker. In his message, Mr. Solutan emphasized the profound contributions and influence of teachers in shaping the minds and values of the younger generation, particularly among indigenous learners. He underscored the importance of compassion, cultural sensitivity, and collaboration in fostering inclusive education for all.

The celebration featured heartfelt tributes, cultural performances, and messages of appreciation dedicated to teachers and indigenous communities. Faculty members, students, and staff gathered to express gratitude and respect for educators’ unwavering dedication and the cultural legacy that enriches the nation’s educational landscape.

Through this convocation, SPAMAST reaffirmed its commitment to promoting quality, inclusive, and culturally grounded education—advancing Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education and SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities.
