Malita, Davao Occidental – May 21, 2025 — The Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) successfully hosted the SPAMAST Job Fair 2025 at the SPAMAST Auditorium in Malita, Davao Occidental. Spearheaded by the Guidance and Testing Office, the event was organized in collaboration with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Public Employment Service Office of Davao Occidental.
The job fair was open to graduating students and the general public, attracting numerous job seekers eager to explore opportunities from government and non-government agencies. There were approximately 121 job vacancies available.
The event commenced with an opening program. Dr. Marlyn B. Llameg, Vice-President for Academic Affairs, delivered a warm welcome address to the participants and guests. This was followed by the introduction of participating companies by Ms. Margaret E. Depalubos, SPAMAST Job Placement Officer (JPO).
Representing DOLE Davao Occidental Provincial Head Engr. Reynold H. Salmite, Ms. Jonah Lou R. Labastin conveyed a message of appreciation to SPAMAST and all participating agencies for supporting the initiative. She encouraged applicants to pursue careers aligned with their passions and underscored the importance of the job fair in bridging the gap between education and employment.
Another message was delivered on behalf of Provincial PESO Manager Mr. Wilson G. Monesit, by Mr. Darius Daliva, further emphasizing the province’s support for employment initiatives and collaborative efforts in addressing youth unemployment.
Following the program, the job fair formally opened. Applicants went through the hiring process, which included registration, validation, and on-the-spot interviews with company representatives.
The SPAMAST Job Fair 2025 is part of the institution’s continuous commitment to support student and community employment needs through partnerships with national and local agencies.
