SPAMAST GAD Director Prof. Imelda T. Lauron Represents Philippines in Global Gender and Sexuality Conference in Thailand

The Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) proudly recognizes Prof. Imelda T. Lauron, the institution’s Gender and Development (GAD) Director, for her successful participation and scholarly presentation at the 8th International Conference on Gender and Sexuality held on October 21–22, 2025, in Bangkok, Thailand. Representing SPAMAST and the Philippines, Prof. Lauron presented her research insights on gender and sexuality, engaging in critical discourse alongside international scholars, educators, and advocates. Guided by the theme “Making an Impact in the Fields of Gender & Sexuality,” her participation underscored the importance of inclusive education, gender sensitivity, and social justice in fostering equitable communities. Her active involvement in the conference highlighted SPAMAST’s continuing commitment to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—particularly SDG 5: Gender Equality, which aims to empower all women and girls, and SDG 4: Quality Education, which promotes inclusive and equitable learning opportunities for all. Through her representation, Prof. Lauron brought international recognition to SPAMAST, demonstrating the institution’s vital role in advancing gender-responsive academic leadership.
