The Davao Region witnessed a powerful surge of innovation and collaboration as the ADDVentures Innovation Center of Ateneo de Davao University spearheaded its Innovation on Wheels: ADDVentures Caravan from May 28 to 30, 2025. This dynamic initiative brought the spirit of entrepreneurship directly to local communities, with a special focus on transforming grassroots ideas into sustainable, market-ready solutions. The culminating leg of the caravan was held at the Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) in Malita, where institutional leaders, innovators, and stakeholders converged to promote inclusive growth through technology. At the heart of the program was SPAMAST President Dr. Lynette A. Bontia, who welcomed participants and lent strategic insights as one of the esteemed resource speakers.
The caravan served as a convergence point for regional innovation leaders, with key presentations highlighting programs on aerospace technology, robotics, artificial intelligence, smart technologies, and environmental sustainability. Dr. Rogel Mari D. Sese of ADDVentures Innovation Center, Dr. Grace D. Buencillo of SPAMAST, and Ms. Maria Victoria I. Dado of the Department of Science and Technology each offered compelling data and initiatives that emphasized the synergy between research, governance, and enterprise. A panel discussion further bridged perspectives on empowering local startups, providing mentorship and access to vital resources. As the program concluded with networking and fellowship, the momentum sparked by the caravan signaled a bold leap toward a more innovative and resilient future for the Davao Region and beyond.
