SPAMAST Convocation Marks Civil Service Milestone with Call for Courage and Commitment

The Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST), through its Institute of Business Management and Governance (IBMG), spearheaded a convocation earlier today at the SPAMAST Auditorium in celebration of the 125th Philippine Civil Service anniversary. The gathering placed the spotlight on courage as a core value in public service and underscored the shared responsibility of government institutions in advancing national progress.

In her presidential address, SPAMAST President Dr. Lynette A. Bontia highlighted the institution’s role in shaping future leaders grounded in integrity, service, and resilience. Reinforcing this message, guest speaker Atty. Joseph R. Peñas, CPA, stressed that courage in public service is not measured by titles or tenure but by the unwavering commitment to serve with transparency and accountability. His message struck a resonant chord with both students and faculty, encouraging them to align personal aspirations with the greater mission of nation-building.

The convocation also featured institutional updates delivered by SPAMAST’s academic and administrative leaders, underscoring the school’s proactive stance in ensuring efficiency, innovation, and excellence. As the program closed with the SPAMAST hymn, participants carried with them not only pride in their alma mater but also a renewed call to courage—an apt reflection of the values upheld by the Civil Service and the promise of a “Bagong Pilipinas.”
