SPAMAST Conducts Training on Emergency Response

The Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) recently conducted a comprehensive training program for its newly formed Emergency Response Team (SERT). The training, held from July 31 to August 2, 2024, at the SPAMAST campus in Malita, Davao Occidental, included both theoretical and practical sessions.

On the second day of the training, participants engaged in a simulation and practical activity designed to enhance their emergency response skills. The activities included a rappelling exercise and basic swimming lessons, focusing on Water Search and Rescue (WASAR) techniques. These practical sessions were facilitated by experts from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office of Malita, Davao Occidental.

The training aimed to equip SERT members with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively respond to emergencies and disasters. Through hands-on experiences, the participants gained valuable insights into managing critical situations, ensuring they are prepared to act swiftly and efficiently in times of need.
