The Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) hosted a culmination program on July 29, 2024, in celebration of Philippine Agriculturist Month held at SPAMAST Lecture Hall, Malita Davao Occidenta. The event was spearheaded by the Institute of Agricultural Sciences and Development Communication (IASDC), under the leadership of the Dean, Dr. Elenito P. Bugawisan.
The program involved active participation from faculty members of the BS Agriculture Program and employees of the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) of Malita, led by OIC-MAO Mrs. Aubrey S. Bautista. The occasion was further highlighted by the presence of Dr. Anastacia Notarte, President of the Philippine Association of Agriculturist, Davao Eagle Chapter.
Dr. Notarte delivered an insightful discussion on the Agriculturist Bill and the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements, emphasizing their significance for the agricultural sector’s growth and development.
A lecture on Participatory Appraisal in Community Approach was also conducted, engaging the participation of MAGRO-Malita employees. This session was facilitated by the SPAMAST faculty.
The event underscored the commitment of SPAMAST and the local agricultural community to advancing agricultural education and professional standards in the region.
